What to Wear for the 4th

Independence Day is right around the corner. And that means parades, barbecues, fireworks and more!! This means you'll also need a great outfit that will keep you feeling comfortable all day long and allow you to enjoy all of the festivities. So, if you're looking for something to wear that's more than a standard flag tee, we've put together a few ideas!

Let's start things off with a maxi dress. Everyone knows that a maxi dress is one of the most comfortable and versatile items to wear!  We've started with our Earn Your Stripes Tank Maxi Dress in Royal Blue (also available in Navy) and added our Petite Bubble Necklace with Earrings. We also added a white cardigan. Even in July it can get a little cool once the sun goes down so it's a good idea to have an extra layer handy. Slip on your favorite pair of flats, sandals, flip flops, or sneakers and you're all set!

For our next outfit we started with our Striped to Perfection Sleeveless Top in Navy/Ivory (also available in Red/Ivory) and added our Bubble Cluster Necklace in Red. We layered our  Ultimate Cami in White under the blouse (it's sheer so you'll definitely want one of those) and once again, we included an extra layer for evening in case it gets a little chilly. Our Double Trouble Jacket in Navy (also available in White) is the perfect solution!

Our next outfit is super simple and also one of my favorite! Our ridiculously popular Chevron Blouse in Navy looks so cute with our Ultimate Cami in Red (also available in Navy and White) layered underneath. Layering is so easy to do an adds an extra pop of color that makes it look like you're wearing an outfit instead of just a shirt and shorts. Our Petite Bubble Necklace with Earrings in Red finishes it all off.

Another personal favorite is our next outfit. This is a really classy look, but also super comfortable. Our Cross Over Tunic with Hood in Navy (also available in Red) is layered with our Ultimate Cami in Red and our Quatrefoil Textured Leggings in White. I just love how the layers add depth and dimension and the texture on the leggings also adds interest. We kept the jewelry simple with just the Red/Gold Bubble Earrings. A red bracelet or watch would really finish it off nicely.

If you're looking for something ultra simple that you can just throw on and go, this next look is for you. Our Spots and Stripes Blouse in Red is so cute that it hardly needs anything else. It has Navy and White stripes on the pocket and on the back. We added a pair of Teardrop Earrings in Navy/Silver and again, it would be cute with a navy watch or bracelet.

For this next outfit, we decided to embrace the color blocking trend and I think the results turned out to be pretty awesome! Once again we used our Ultimate Cami in Red to layer. These camis are seriously amazing and a definite must-have. We just got these in our shop in 9 different colors so you'll probably need at least one of each. They are the perfect length, have the perfect amount of stretch, and they're so versatile and can be worn with so many different things! Okay, end of shameless plug for the camis (but they are really great and I had to tell you. Because that's what friends do, they look out for each other).

Back to the outfit. Over the cami is our Favorite Short Sleeve Dolman Top in Royal Blue. We paired it with our Wide Leg Linen Pants in White and added our Stranded Statement Necklace in Red (also available in White and Dazzling Blue). I love how fresh and fabulous this outfit looks! White is totally hot right now. It's so clean and crisp. Word of advice: throw a bleach pen in your purse just in case and you're good to go.

These Polka Dot Denim Skinnies are also new to our shop, available in 4 colors including White/Navy and Navy/White. They. are. so. cute. We are all dying for them! We've styled them in two different outfits here, but the options are endless. Get creative and have fun mixing and matching with different tops and accessories.

Above: Solid Stretch Lace Tank in Red (also available in Royal Blue), Funky Flecks Necklace in White/Silver

Okay, this is starting to seem like kind of a long post and it's probably the pictures you're really interested in anyway, right? We had so much fun mixing up all of our red, white, and blue pieces that we came up with a lot of great looks. How about if I just show you the rest without all of the yackity smackity? Sound good?

And here are just a few more goodies you can mix and match:

We want to see what you're wearing this summer. Send us your photos and a brief description of your go-to summer or patriotic outfits. Vacation Time in the Caribbean

Hey everyone!
My name is Ali and I am the 3rd party manager at
Our World Boutique!
I love my job, but even the best employee needs a vacation every now and then. ;)

I just got back from the best vacation I've ever taken! My husband and I went on a Caribbean Cruise. We went with a group of friends, minus the kids. (I have 4....that deserves a break...right?)
So with a total of 10 of us, we set off on our adventure!

We flew into Puerto Rico and stayed a couple nights before we set sail.
We stayed a night with an awesome lady that one of our friends knew.

She lived at the very tippy top of a mountain in the jungle. It was so scary driving up to her house, but once we were there it was gorgeous.

Stopped for a picture half way up the mountain. (Hello...that's me with no makeup....yikes!)

This is her "neighborhood". We went on a little walk before dinner.

This.....is dinner! Delicious! She fixed us an authentic Puerto Rican meal and it was
soooooo good!

After that we took off to St. Thomas where we took a ferry over to St. John and played on the most beautiful beach ever! It was soft white sand and warm turquoise water!

Don't mind that my hubby looks like a goober. ;)

The best friends a girl could ask for!

Our next stop was Barbados and there we reserved a catamaran and went snorkeling with sea turtles and saw a few shipwrecks. It was AWESOME!

Don't mind that I look like a goober! ;)

After that we went to St. Lucia. This place has the craziest roads! I got sick on our taxi ride up to where we went zip lining. That was a blast! I think that the guides were what made it as fun as it was. I was pretty nervous about it since I'm not a big fan of heights, but I got over that quick.

Ready to zip through the rain forest.

Our guides were awesome!

After St. Lucia we were off to St Kitts. We didn't know what to do really on St. Kitts so we asked our waiter what he thought and he told us about a beach called Shell (or cockleshell) beach. It was pretty awesome....pina coladas and natural aloe massages on the beach. Seriously....does it get any better than that? Nope!

This was a very intense game of volleyball.

There was a guy walking around with this monkey. He would let it climb on you and we took a bunch of pictures of it and then he said we owed him $10. I'm thinking he probably should have lead with that. :/ Still cool pictures though....even if I did have to unwillingly pay $10 for them.

After St. Kitts set sail to our last stop at St. Maarten. I'm not gonna lie...after all the beaches and swimming and spending the day in wet swimsuits I was over it so I decided to stay dry on this day and I'm not sad I did. It was a beautiful beach, but the waves were rather large this day, and not being a strong swimmer this turned out to be a good day for me to stay in a lounge chair and sun bathe.

I have to say that the clothes that I decided to take from our boutique were the perfect clothes to wear on a cruise. I got nothing but compliments on the Crochet Shorts (I took two pair, black and teal) and the Crossover Hooded Tunic that I wore as a swim cover. I also got lots of compliments on my Chevron Fringe Necklace and Aubrey Dress  that I wore to dinner on one of our elegant dinner nights.

Man am I glad I had Our World Boutique to cover all my awesome
clothing/accessory needs for my cruise!

Walking in Memphis in High Heels: Trend Spin Linkup

Love how Laura, Walking in Memphis in High Heels, styled our Audrey dress with a denim jacket and our  white Crystal Petals Necklace.  Can you even tell she's 5 months pregnant?

Here's what she had to say about the dress and necklace!

"I've been living in denim jackets for the last few months.  It is such a great layering piece, and it covers up my 5 month pregnant belly.  I paired it with my new Our World Boutique dress and necklace, and I love the combination of black, white and brown together.  This dress is so lightweight and airly and was perfect for our 93 degree weather this weekend...."
